KAR Competition - February 21, 2010

Here are the highlights from the Kids Artistic Revue yesterday...my girl was at the Baltimore Opera Lyric House from 7:45 am until 5:45 pm...she had two dances and a whole lot of waiting for awards...but in the end she'd tell you she LOVED every minute! Here she is before her 8:12 am performance. She did a routine to the song "Shake Your Tail Feathers"...it was a 2 and 1/2 minute routine and she was very excited...enjoy the pre-performance pix...

...here are some performance pix...I have tons, but I picked out my three favorites...

...kate and rachel (another dancer from her studio) both did solos in the early am and then waited until 11 am for the awards ceremony...in the first pix they are clapping for their parents and teacher...the following pictures are the two of them with their awards...kate received a first place, rachel received a top first place and a highest points medal...they were both thrilled...

...did I mention the paparazzi following kate's every move...her daddy, her brothers, her cousin francis, her auntie, her pop and granny, and jessie...and as usual...after her performance there was a trip to the "gift shop"...these companies always come with goodies...and pop-pop is a sucker for his granddaughter...

...about five hours after her first performance, her dance team performed a hip-hop routine to "Who Let the Dogs Out"...they also received a first place for their routine!...it was a great day for the studio...

...they waited until 4:45 pm for the next awards ceremony...and although she'd do it all over again...it WIPED HER OUT...she slept on the way home and slept for 11 hours last night...

...a special thanks to jessie, auntie, and granny and pop who endured the "not so fun parts" of a competition...because they were also there for TEN HOURS!!

Kids staying busy...

So...to list some of the things the boys have been doing to occupy their time...shoveling, video games, sledding, video games, shooting hoops, video games, "scooter races", video games...anyone seeing a pattern...their favorite place, and where they'd stay all day if they didn't have a mom who yelled, "time to do something else" is...well, see for yourself...
...jake is absent from the picture because he is at his friend's house...probably playing video games...

And then there is kate...how does she stay busy?!
...dancing and singing, talking, playing school, talking, drawing, talking, playing Webkinz, talking, and playing Monopoly with Payton...oh, and did I mention...talking?

...love that girl...
...enough is enough...we need SPRING!...
...just found the cord to download pictures that are on the internal memory of my camera...and when I plugged it in, I found these fun pictures...they have nothing to do with anything, but maybe they'll give you a warm feeling inside...we could all use a warm feeling right about now...
..."the tree" in Robert and Kim's front yard...
...everybody needs a little "Fancy Nancy" in their lives...
..."Fall" (said in a longing voice)...
...one cool dude...
...are we cool or what?...
...stay warm...

MOM and DAD...stay south!!

...seriously? you want to come back to this?...

...no plow yet...

...I mean, we're happy about the blue skies, but seriously?!...

...remember that car across the street...yeah, that's it alright...and where you think it looks like its been plowed...thats the sidewalk!!...

...there are some beautiful parts...the icicles are amazing...

...we miss you like crazy...but I think you better stay put...
...love you...

20-30 inches of snow expected...HOLY MOLY!!

In case you're reading this and you don't live in the DC Metropolitan area, OR you've had your head under a rock...WARNING...tons of snow coming to an area near you!!
Most of the snow you see in the picture below is from our last storm...we haven't even had an inch yet, but the weather forecast has us in the 20-30 inches range, and the kids are very excited! We got out of school early today which meant my kids could have friends over...here is what Kate and her girlfriends are up to right now!

Stay warm where ever this post finds you...and enjoy!
It's going to be one for the history books I think!
